As a Machine Learning Engineer at PakWheels, you will be an integral part of a team focused on developing and deploying cutting-edge AI solutions to enhance our product offerings. This position offers the chance to work on creating models using advanced machine learning algorithms and techniques to address critical challenges in buying and selling of UsedCars in Pakistan. As a member of the R&D team, you will also be responsible for deploying these models while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, optimize, and deploy machine learning models across various domains like computer vision, NLP, time series, and recommendation systems.

  • Build and optimize recommendation engines using collaborative filtering, content-based, and hybrid approaches.

  • Develop chatbots leveraging prompt engineering, RAG-based approaches, and advanced NLP techniques (intent detection, sentiment analysis, response generation).

  • Design, deploy, and monitor ML pipelines and frameworks in production environments.

  • Continuously monitor and evaluate ML model performance, optimizing for scalability and efficiency.

  • Build RESTful APIs for model serving using FASTAPI/Flask frameworks.

  • Collaborate with software engineering teams to integrate ML models into applications and systems.

  • Manage deployments using CI/CD pipelines and MLOps best practices.

  • Lead and mentor a team of ML engineers, providing technical guidance and support.

Qualification:

  • A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience required. 

  • Strong problem-solving and software engineering skills.

  • Proficient in Object-Oriented Programming and SQL.

  • Hands-on experience with Python’s scientific computing ecosystem (pandas, numpy, scikit-learn, matplotlib).

  • Deep understanding of the Machine Learning Lifecycle and models:

    • Supervised (classification, regression)

    • Unsupervised (anomaly detection, clustering, dimensionality reduction)

  • In-depth knowledge of computer vision and deep learning algorithms, including object detection and image recognition.

  • Familiarity with Time Series modeling techniques (ARIMA, exponential smoothing, Prophet, XGBoost, LightGBM).

  • Practical experience in ML model optimization for performance and scalability.

  • Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, etc.

  • Good understanding of mathematics and statistics relevant to machine learning.

  • Hands-on experience with version control systems like GIT.

  • Experience using Docker for containerization.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools and MLOps practices.

  • Familiarity with model serving techniques and frameworks.

  • Experience in building scalable ML solutions in production environments.
